10 Of The Best Sports Bras According To These Athletes
By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
Whether you’re a pro athlete, a casual team player or looking to get into a new sport, there are tons of tips online to guide you – but who better to turn to for suggestions than the athletes themselves?
Why Nicola recommends this bra:
I love that Adidas bras are sized according to width and cup size. They are also rated low/medium/high support which is really helpful.
This bra is perfect for me — it’s comfortable and not too bulky which I like because we have to wear GPS vests over the top of our sports bras for training and games as well, so I don’t want something that is too bulky.
Why Lydia recommends this bra:
This bra is made for all distances in running. Firstly, it is made with adjustable straps, giving you a personalised fit. These adjustable straps also make it easy to get in and out of the bra, even when you are sweaty after a long run. The Dri-FIT technology also helps to minimise chafing throughout a long run as it moves sweat away from your body.
Why Monique recommends this bra:
This one is my current fave as it provides the perfect support for myself when training for footy, or basketball, or even out for a run! The style on the back is very appealing too — and I love the colours. I recommend the High Impact training bra, because of the support it gives. With all the running, jumping, sprinting, falling, tackling etc. I need all the support I can get which is why I choose this one. It’s also a cool design.
Why Deena recommends this bra:
I have had this bra for a few years now and it is still in great shape. I love the medium strap with the cleavage boost. As my training requires a lot of quick movement with my arms, it can be difficult to find a flattering sports bra that is supportive and doesn’t give me marks. This bra perfectly packs me in without losing its shape. It is the most comfortable and flattering bra I own, and I can lift and run with ease.
Why Rea recommends this bra:
It’s lightweight with soft material, which is important to me as I love to be comfortable. I have worn this sports bra style since I was a teenager, so for over 10 years now.
I find it is not too tight around my ribs and under my armpits, which can be a problem area with some sports bras. I play football and I love a slim fit so this sports bra works well with my football kit. When I put it on I feel good and ready for game day/training and ready to perform.
It also comes in a variety of colours and fun designs, my favourite being a bright orange, which I have had for about four years. It is a happy colour and gets me excited for training and games.
Why Pippa recommends this bra:
I have been wearing this bra for about six years! Contrary to its name, I actually don’t use it for running at all. I love it because I have larger boobs and those things move. So I need something to keep me really supported when I’m doing high-impact movements, when I'm lifting in the gym and when I’m throwing.
I love this bra because it’s adjustable so you can either have the straps like a traditional bra or use the clasp at the back to make it a racer back (which is my go-to option). There are usually lovely colours to choose from and it's available in a range of sizes from a 30A to a 38F. I would recommend this bra to absolutely anyone, no matter your boob size or what activity/sport you’re doing. It's the supportive hug you need to perform to your potential.
Why Hen recommends this bra:
I use mine for football and sometimes as a binder as it flattens the bust. Sports bras seem to fit me pretty well, although I've found New Balance to be less tight and a bit more comfortable on the chest band compared to other brands. I am an A cup and around a size 8 or 10 so I go for the medium. These ones are actually really comfy and you can wear them for ages.
Why Leanne recommends this bra:
This bra has really changed how I feel on the pitch. My chest feels properly supported with the four-clasp strap but in a comfortable way where I feel I can still breathe. So far I have had no problems at all in any aspect of the game — whether it be sprinting or marking other players.
