Exceptional Smith & Wesson First Model .44 Double Action RevolverAll frames of the First Model 44 Double Action revolver were manufactured between 1881 and 1898. They were listed in the company catalogs and sold up until 1913. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two-line address/patent dates. The matching serial number is marked on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel and barrel latch. It is fitted with pinned front and notch rear sights and has casehardened hammer and trigger; the remaining surfaces are blue.
