By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
Looking for a hot new summer 'do? Try these in under ten minutes!
The Upgraded Ponytail
These twisted tresses might look complicated, but you'll be on the beach after just a few easy steps.
Model: Alexandra Baben of Ford Models.
Start by making a middle part. Next, take a triangle section of hair and make a simple three-strand braid.
Take a second section behind the ear and make another braid.
Secure the ends with duck bill clips, which can be found at your local beauty-supply store.
Repeat on the other side of your head. Now you have two braids on each side in the front. Divide the hair in the back into three sections. Braid and clip.
When you're ready, take two of the front braids (one on each side) and connect to the two side braids in the back. Next, make one big braid by twisting two on each side with the middle braid.
It will start to look something like this!
Pull the remaining two smaller braids in the front (one on each side) and secure with bobby pins in the back of your head. You can hide the pins in your braided 'do. Now you're all set for some fun in the sun!
Old World Princess
Just because you want to let you hair down, doesn't mean you can't add a little romantic whimsy to the mix.
Part your hair down the middle. Make a triangle section at the top front and make a traditional braid.
Repeat on the opposite side.
Secure two braids together with a clear elastic.
Make two more sections (one on each side) and repeat the braid process.
Make one larger braid using the two side braids you just completed, and the middle braid you created in the beginning.
Rather Game of Thrones, no?
Old World Updo
This elegant bun alternative is perfect for everything from an outdoor concert to a barbecue.
Start by making a middle part and make a braid in the front of both sides of your head.
Make two more braids (one on each side) with your remaining hair. Plumpen the braids by gently pulling on them.
Take the left braid you just created in the back and cross it over to the right side of your head. Secure with bobby pins.
Repeat on the other side.
Now that both braids are crisscrossed, make sure the braided section is completely secure. Pin where it feels loose.
Repeat the same crisscross/pin process with the two remaining braids in the front, making sure to tuck in the tails.
And, there you have it! Note: The plumper you make the braids, the fuller the look.
As hot as a summer's day!
